All firefighting operations on the “base” were transferred from the US Air Force to the Commonwealth

 Of Massachusetts effective October 1, 2008. Former Otis Air National Guard Base. In 2014 the base name

Was again changed from Massachusetts Military Reservation to Joint Base Cape Cod.
